“Sequence of Events”

In the story the Fish’s Wishes the wife was rude until the fish gave the man what he deserved. Which was a nice wife. If the sequence of the wife’s wishes were different, it would change the story.

What I read is called, “Phony Clue”. The main character is Nate. He was on a case, he found two pieces of paper and put it together and it said, “Invitation to my hose”. Once when Nate held the paper to a wall like a sign, he thought he had a clue. When he solved the case, Nate found out that a boy named Finley wrote the invitation.

IN the the story Duncan Dorfman there are a lot of reasons why sequence is important. One reason why is that if Duncan did not move he would may have never learned how to play scrabble. If he didn’t what would the point of the story be.That is why in the story Duncan Dorfman you need sequence.

If the fisherman had not caught the fish in the beginning, he would not have been able to grant the wishes. for example, he would not have given them a new house, or a palace, or a meal for for a queen. As you can see, if the fish hadn’t been caught, he would not have granted the wishes.

The sequence is important because it is the order that the story is told.

It will change the story line because if you mix up the story the whole thing will change.

In the book, Frindle, if the teacher had never told her class that she loved dictionaries, they would have never come up with the idea of creating a new word. That would have changed the meaning of the story.

This is why the sequence is important when writing a story.

The sequence of a story is very important. Romeo and Juliet ends badly because of the sequence of events that took place. In the book, Romeo and Juliet fall in love, but their parents are at war with each other. Juliet fakes her death, and Romeo thinks she really is dead. He takes poison, and then Juliet wakes up! If Juliet would have woken up before Romeo took the poison, they would both be alive. That was not the sequence, though, and they both died in the end.

The book Percy Jackson needs to be in the order it is. That’s because if Percy saves the world and then Chiron tells him to save the world,he would have already. This shows how the story would go weird and the reader could not understand it. In conclusion, the book has to be in order.

  9. October 19th, 2016 at 8:08 pm      Reply Rough Ryan Says:

In the book The Kid Who Ran For President, if you change one specific part in the story, you can change the entire plan. You can change the story because if Laine did not think of a kid becoming President, Judson Moon and Laine Brainard would never have tried to make a campaign and run for president and be a candidate for the Presidency. Kids would not have made lemonade stands and done other things to raise money for Judson’s campaign. It says in the story that they had to discuss what they were going to do for the presidency and win the election and raise money. If they had never done that, it would have been a story about a kid who thought about running for President, but never did. As you can see, if you change one tiny part in the book The Kid Who Ran for President, the entire story will change.

The sequence is very important in The Fish’s Wishes. It is very important because with out sequence it would not make sense. For example if he never caught the fish first he would never get any wishes. For the man to get any wishes he first needed to catch the fish that is why I think my answer is right. After reading this you can see that this book needs certain sequence or it will not make sense.

I agree! Think about how the wife changed throughout the story. She never would’ve changed if the fisherman did not have all those wishes. Sequence is important to a storyline.

I think the sequences are important in Edward Tulaine because you can explain it easer to explain it to someone. For example ,”first Edward lived with Abaline and didn’t love, then he lived with a lot of other people and learned to love,at the end of the book he found Abaline and she was an adult “,that is how sequences are important.

    • October 20th, 2016 at 2:20 pm      Reply mschoening Says:

Do you think Edward would have grown as much as he did if the order of the people he met were in a different sequence? What if some of the people were removed entirely? I wonder…..

The title of the story is called,”Phony clue”. The main character is Nate. After Nate took a walk, he saw a piece of paper that said,”vita”. Nate picked up the scrap and walked around the neighborhood. When he got to someone’s house,he found another piece of paper. When Nate picked up the paper, he put the scraps which said,”invitation”. But the case wasn’t solved yet. Nate needed to find another scrap and find out who wrote the invitation.

It is important to have sequence in stories. Sequence is the order of the events. A story starts with a beginning, has a middle, and an ending. For example, in the story, The Fish’s Wishes ,the fish is magical. If the fishermen didn’t find the fish, the lady wouldn’t get her wishes. It wouldn’t make sense. The reader would get confused.

    • October 20th, 2016 at 2:21 pm      Reply mschoening Says:

Agreed! The order is very important. What do you think the old man learned from his experience with his wife and the magical fish? Good work!

In Miss Rumphius alice was a little girl and she was panting the sky for her grandpa picture.Next she sat on her grandpa leg and listened to her grandpas stories of far away places. Alices grandpa told her that when she is older you must do something to make the world more beautiful.A little bit latter she traveled all over the world like her grandpa did. When she was done with her traveling she bought a new house and from her porch she would watch the sun come up.She remember what her grandpa told her she had to do something to make the world more beautiful. Then her back was bothering her.She always loved lupines. After a hard winter spring came. The spring before that she planted lupins and they grew. And she planted lupines all over town. And that how she made the world more beautiful. So thats why this story has to have a sequence.

    • October 20th, 2016 at 2:24 pm      Reply mschoening Says:

How do you think the book would’ve been different if the order of events was in a different sequence? Would the girl have traveled or planted those flowers? Nice job!

In the book, Alien Abductions by Ray McClellan, the sequence of story is important to the story line. The book begins with a farmer’s story of being abducted by aliens. Then there are more similar stories about alien abductions throughout history. The end of the book gives possible explanations. If the events occurred in different order the story itself would not change. The sequence is important because if the explanations were given first I might not believe the peoples alien abduction could be true.

In the story, the Fish’s Wishes, the sequence of the story matters. It matters because if the husband received what he wanted from the fish, then the wife wouldn’t have received all of the things she wanted. If the husband got the fish later on in the story, then the wife would not have gotten all that she wanted. If the fish didn’t make the wife less greedy, she would continue asking for more things. In this paragraph, you can see why the sequence of the story is important.

    • October 20th, 2016 at 2:25 pm      Reply mschoening Says:

Good work! What if the husband didn’t believe the fish and took him home instead of putting him back in the water?

Edward Tulane has a important sequence.the sequence is important because if the boys didnt come and take Edward and throw him overboard he would not been in that adventure with Bull, abalien,Sara Ruth or Sara Ruth’s brother.in the text it states that Edward got thrown overboard by the two boys.In the evidence it says “the boys got Edward and threw him overboard then the fisherman got Edward then then bull found Edward then Sara Ruth had Edward but then died so then her brother took care of Edward then he went to the food shop but they didn’t have money for the refill of coffee and said have you ever seen a rabbit dance? Then the cashier grabbed Edward then broke him then he went to the toy fixer and he fixed him but Sara Ruth’s brother had to let go of Edward and give Edward to him because they made a deal if the fixer fixes him he keeps him and so then at the end abalien comes and sees Edward. As you can see Edward had a adventures sequence but if the boys never came it would not make all that adventure happen

You are totally correct! What would have happened to Edward? Would he have remained selfish and uncaring if he wasn’t thrown overboard? Very interesting. Good job!

In Ribsy the sequence is important because the reader learns that Ribsy has a home and an owner but he gets lost and all sorts of things happen to him before his owners find him again. Ribsy was lost because his family was leaving the house and he wanted to follow so he ran out of the house without his family knowing. Ribsy got into a lot of trouble and meet all types of people. There was even a reward for the person that found him. The family found Ribsy and everyone was so happy.

In the story of The Fish’s Wishes the sequence of the story is important to the story line because it’s about a fisherman who caught a magical fish. The fish said if you let me go I will grant you any wish you want. At dinner the fisherman told his wife about the magical fish and she sent him back to the sea to find the fish and say his name three times and he will come back to grant the fishermans wish. In the text it states that the fishermans wife is interested in the fish to. The reason the sequence is important to the story line is because if the fisherman didn’t go fishing he would have never found the magical fish. I like this story because I like to go fishing with my grandpa and it would be cool to find a magical fish one day.

That would be awesome! I wish you could catch a magical fish. Great response. The entire story would have been different if he never caught it.

The sequence of the story is important in Edward Toulane. He changed from the beginning to end. In the beginning, he was ungrateful and selfish towards Abeline. After being thrown off the boat and fished out of the water by Lawrence, he began to change. In the middle of the book, Edward was loving, kind and grateful. He was happy to not be at bottom of the ocean anymore. Nellie thought he was a girl and he didn’t mind. In the beginning of the book, he would have been mad at that. Nellie and Lawrence placed him on a stool at the dinner table, unlike Abeline who put him on a chair. At the end, after Sara Ruth died and his head got smashed he ended up in a doll shop where Abeline brought her daughter into. Edward recognized Abeline’s pocket watch and knew it was his.
To sum it up, the sequence shows his personal changes from beginning to end.

    R. The sequence of events is important in the story Hatchet.
    A. In this story, a plane crashes and the main character spends nearly six months surviving in the wilderness before he is rescued.
    C. In the text it describes that had his mother not given him the hatchet, then he would not have survived this tragic event.
    E. It was fortunate that Brian Robeson’s mother had gifted him this particular item just the prior summer. Even though he had not used it before this trip he was taking to visit his father in the Canadian wilderness, it was the key that kept him alive in his struggles alone.
    S. After reading this you may find that the sequence of events was a life or death matter.
