I’ll never forget meeting Marissa. It was over 4 years ago. It was at Tennyson Park when I was 4 and she was 5. Do you want it to hear about it? Well, I’m going to tell you anyway. So imagine Marissa and I as adorable 4 and 5 years olds. Marissa was getting back from softball practice at Tennyson Field. Her team was the Cougars
She went to the playground, I was there too. I didn’t really notice her that much. We were really shy but I’m glad she sucked it up and I was REALLY happy she noticed me. So anyway, we were begging for a playdate. Our parents said “We’ll see.” We played all sorts of games but my favorite was…before I tell you it’s a little cheesy because we were young - DUN DUN DUN Chinese secret agent game. It was fun, weird and exciting at the same time. First, you had to get the super secret tracking device to find the sumo wrestler, the random boy that we found. Next, you went down the super secret slide (a.k.a. Triple ST). It was just a dusty little slide. Then, you had to clImb the super secret monkey bars (Marissa taught me how to climb them) to get away from the laser sharks. Finally, you fought the wrestler, face to face. Of course the adorable Becky and Marissa won, saved the world and THE DUMPLINGS! I know it’s hard to believe that we (especially in tiny form) could win a battle like that! We had a lot of fun playing. Inside my head I could imagine I was on an adventure with black suits and black lines under my eyes but in my head we didn’t look Chinese.
Though I have other great friends, Marissa is one of the best. I learned a lot of things that day:
1. You can be great friends just in one day.
2. It’s easy to make friends.
3. 5 year old Marissa can REALLY kick butt!
THE END or is it? DUN DUN DUN!

Becky, I really like your imagination, originality, and voice. I think that going into your imagination worked really well, because I can picture you in secret agent clothes with the camouflage markings under your eyes. Ms. Feiner
