I agree with Agne, Marcus has gone too far to give up all of a sudden he should stop over thinking on the negatives and stay focused.
I agree with the above comments Marcus would look stupid trusting her after she hacked him. I know if I were Marcus I would think twice about it, this seems so strange.
I feel like this is crap, how does he know Darryls alive. Marcus is worried about whether Darryl is okay or not. He’s definitely not thinking.
Wow Agne not talking to him for those few days after that argument really made him realize a lot. He finally noticed that telling the truth is better then stressing out and keeping it bottled in. He’s deffinately changing for the best.
Of coarse they would think that, the government just wont allow people to have their opinions. They are so paranoid.
Thats not a good answer, especially since hes fighting for his freedom. He should have a back up plan as to what government should do instead of hunting down and accusing innocent people.
The news is just so negative, I’m pretty sure there are some good things that go on in this world.
The TV and the radio is where everyone gets their overexagerated stories from. I agree with Marcus, Parents do get all of their ideas from the news.
It is America, and there is a such thing as freedom of speech. Marcus shouldn’t get suspended for two weeks thats so dumb! What makes them think that Marcus wont do anything wrong outside of school. Thats ridiculous
Why the hell would she blush as she admitted to doing this? its not cool if thats how shes trying to come off to marcus.
I feel as though they would be wasting their time telling people about “that”. Its just obviously the people have a clue and all they really want to do is have the people go against the government and they were verbally doing that at the concert. I just don’t see what they would change about the news.
kind of weird how “the wetness of her armpits” was sexy and not gross? umm what.
Well Marcus, It’s all your fault.
I really don’t get why he is panicking about this, he should have seen it coming.
wow, dad opened his eyes to what’s going on.
Is he dumb? Starting a blog post especially when the government probably can track down what he’s doing and see it.
See, this is a big example that the government is paranoid. Who cares if someone takes “many trips to the Home Depot,” or goes elsewhere. Those people should be able to live their lives I’m pretty sure that the bombing on the bridge was probably the first time terrorists attacked San Francisco and I feel that they took it to far by stalking everyone that lives there.
I agree with all of the comments above. I feel as though every move they make is being recorded which is as if the government is paranoid themselves for anything to ever go wrong again.
Maybe Jolu was upset because Marcus is selfish? Or that Marcus never involved Jolu in anything, only Darryl? Maybe we’ll find out..
This shows that Marcus mom is about to stick up for him if she’s upset, which is good!
Are you serious? Now there’s a camera in the classrooms. Thats rediculous, I don’t see what can go wrong in a class room? Or whats the reason to have a camera in there. Its a whole different story if cameras were placed in the hallways, thats normal.
I would react the same way as Marcus, its like someone talking and you question them and they go, “Don’t worry about it.” Marcus had every right to try and make him tell him why the store wouldn’t take his debit card. Especially since he would always use it their and always got his coffee from there.
I really feel like someone hacked into his laptop and maybe took a part from it? Especially since he was the one that built it and he doesn’t remember seeing it like that.
I think that maybe those people did take Darryl and are keeping him there so Marcus doesn’t try and do anything wrong.
Its kind of weird. They basically studied him
This basically tells us that we aren’t really alloud to keep anything private anymore since the government is always creeping.
I guess I was wrong about Marcus not giving into this.
I don’t get why the information on his memory sticks and phone are so important and why there’s a need to bribe him? I really don’t think Marcus would give in no matter how scared he is. Its just not him to fall for any of this.
umm it actually isn’t okay to have your bestfriend lying there after he just got stabbed, I would be in panic mode if I was him its pretty scaryy.
Here he is clearly peer pressuring Darryl into skipping school.
After reading this chapter Marcus is a technology genius! He knows so much with hacking into the schools system to hiding his ID cards when he leaves the school to block out radio energy.
I would love to know if that “#” has any significance, its the second time it has appeared in this chapter…
Its kind of weird that Marcus knows all of this information from Benson especially his social security number. Even though this may be a little irrelevant but Marcus sense of humor in this paragraph reminds me of Jesse Eisenburgs sense of humor when he played Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network.
I agree this really shows that Winston doesn’t care about school at all and that he could care less about any trouble he gets in at school. He doesn’t take school seriously, at all.
Seems like he got into some trouble with the whole “w1n5ton” name especially since in this paragraph he mentions how a disciplinary officer would pronounce it incorrectly.
