Wow, Marcus is lucky! In relaity, I doubt anything like this would happen. Electronic terrorism is a serious offense. We all know that Marcus should really be guilty of Electronic terrorism. I seriously cant believe they onl charged him for the theft.
Marcus and Ange are finally reunited! Even though they have to spend sometime in jail, they still have a fighting chance to win this trial. I think that the government shouldn’t be treating miniors like this in jail. Maybe this would be considered cruel and unusual punishment?
Okay, so Marcus kind of cheated on Ange. This makes me fustrated a little. Apparently Van has always took a liking to Marcus. The real question here is that maybe Marcus has always had feelings for Van. I kind of feel bad for Darryl now. If he ever found out that Van had always had a crush on Marcus, that would break his heart.
If Marcus wants to play it smart I would never give up my ID card to anyone I hardly know. I think this girl comes off too strog and kind of sketchy, so I wouldn’t trust her.
Larping seems like fun! I use to go to scout camp as a kid so I can relate to their whole outdoor games and fun. Obviously, being a computer tech genious like Marcus, larping would be an activity he enjoys doing.
I love being that person who teaches other people about technology or how to do something. Most teenagers these days are the ones who are teaching their parents or older relatives how to operate techology. This proves that our generation is moving is greatly influenced by technology. We are moving closer into a world of technological advancement.
I spent alot of my free time as a kid watching the Brady Bunch re-runs. I think it’s amusing that Marcus made a connection with a tv show house and a house he sees in the area. I feel like me and Marcus draw connections with tv shows and relaity, more than the average teenager.
It’s nice to see the title of the book in the context. This is most likely symbolisum. Maybe Marcus is refering to the noobs or new gamers as the little brothers.
Personaly I find it kind of strange when parents call their kids “son” or “daughter” and never say their actual name. If one day my parents started saying things such as: “Daughter can you clean your room?”, i would start to question our relationship. I agree with Marcus, that it seems almost as if his father stoped thining of him as an actual person and started to think of him as a “larva” or object of some sort.
The no child Left Behind Act I remember learning about that in U.S history and International Hot Spots last year. I remember George W Bush passing this act in order to reach out to innner city schools mostly. I find it interesting that I am able to make this connection with historical events to this novel.
its parts about teenage love that keeps peope or age interested in reading this novel. Not only can we realte to this novel based on the modern day technology involved in this book, but the teenage issues that are being discussed.
Emma Goldman was a revolutionary that I studied and read about in m psyc of the character class. She has a minior roll in the novel “Ragtime”. I find it interesating how I can find a connection between these two novels.
Unfortunatly, the American society is always struggling with the racial barrier. I agree with Marcus that white and black people are treated differently, even in present day.
I hate those kind of games or activites that are so bad that you can’t stop playing or doing. Like that song “Friday”, it’s such a terrible song, yet people can’t stop singing it almost every Friday.
Van has become my favorite character in this novel so far. Like Van, I go to concerts pretty frequently. I always get myself a band shirt as some kind of rememberance of each concert. Sometime I wear my shirts the way Van is described to have her worn.
Now a days you can’t be too sure about whos a real cop. Better be safe then sorry, by asking to seeing a badge.
It’s scary traveling to a place you don’t know. Sometimes people feel the safest when they are home and with their family.
People these days don’t care to help people up like Marcus attempted to do. At least he had his mind set in the right place.
It be nice if new york wasnt so cold. Spring just started and we are all freezing in shorts and t-shirts. I’m not a tourist, but I want to wear my shorts and t-shirts already.
Clarkstown North High school has a smilar school policy on cell phones. Students are always finding a way to get pass this rule.
I agree, everyone has their own signature walk. We are all different in our own way.
