its great that the DHS has finally been exposed for what they were doing and will face serious consequences for trying to take this into their own hands

I agree witn everyone else. Having a case this short is extremely unrealistic

I agree with the rest of the group since this case was way to short but in reality it could take months/years.

rachelm1 on paragraph 11

This court case was really quick. It seems like something that would never happen. I feel like a case like this could take months or even years.

laurenn1 on paragraph 11

This was a very fast court case. It feels so unreal because that would never happen. Every court case takes longer than it should in all legal cases.

agreed, no one can guarantee a quick trial or any timed trial for that matter. things like this could take years. saying things like that could set someone’s expectations of the process too high and set up for disappointment.

paolar1 on paragraph 47

Marcus and Ange are finally reunited! Even though they have to spend sometime in jail, they still have a fighting chance to win this trial. I think that the government shouldn’t be treating miniors like this in jail. Maybe this would be considered cruel and unusual punishment?

ryanm3 on paragraph 17

If i was going to jail i would want to find my friends and family and say goodbye to them before i go as well. Nothing else would really matter because i wouldnt be seeing them for a long time.

“Pretty fast is a relative term.”..very true. Everything takes longer than it should in legal cases.

Why does he keep saying he’s sorry? At least they’re able to testify against the DHS now. That’s a good thing, why would he be sorry?

elizabethp on paragraph 15

This is just ridiculous, but so obviously what actually would happen in reality. The government would be so angry with someone pointing out its flaws that it would rather prosecute someone for making them look like an idiot than fix its mistakes and go after real criminals.

Liz on paragraph 15

everyone who worked with marcus has to go to jail seems a little harsh because marcus didnt even commit a “crime”

remym1 replies to ravenm1 on paragraph 11

That’s one of the problems with our judicial system. It’s overflowing with people like Marcus, who have either not committed a crime at all or are petty criminals that are slowing everything down.

fast and speedy trial... only problem is that it could actually take years to process with the plea bargaining etc.
