by Kyle Unger

Game #3 vs. Ramapo (L 19-17)
Friday, September 21st, 2012

After their win last week against Arlington at home, the Rams were set to face off against the Ramapo Gryphons for their second straight home game. The Gryphons got the ball first as they stormed down the field to get on the scoreboard early. The Rams fought back to tie up the score before halftime. To get ahead in the second half, junior Matt McMullin ran a 65-yard TD. The Rams had two key injuries that kept senior Mike Lembo and sophomore James Valle on the sideline. With a 22-yard field goal from senior Andrew Seid, the Rams took a 17-7 lead. The Gryphons charged again with an 85-yard kick return for a TD, but missed the extra point. 17-13 in Clarkstown North’s favor. Ramapo got the ball back with just over a minute to go. They ran down the clock and completed a 9-yard TD pass with 55 seconds left on the clock. 19-17 Ramapo. The Rams set out to take advantage of their time by completing quick, short passes to seniors Ricky Straniere, Jeremy Job, and Anthony Termine, but Ramapo’s defense was too much. The Rams lost their first game of the season with a record of 2-1. Join in next week when the Rams go head-to-head with Carmel HS at Carmel on Friday, September 28th. Come and support your team!

Game #2 vs. Arlington (W 24-14)
Friday, September 14th, 2012

For their home opener of the 2012-13 season, the Clarkstown North Rams hosted Arlington. To increase the home-field advantage, Brian Berran made his first appearance as the team mascot to work the crowd and keep them into the game as much as possible. As the favorite, Arlington was predicted to win the game by a touchdown. The Rams worked to prove them wrong. To surprise Clarkstown, the Rams captured the lead early, and never looked back. Senior Ricky Straniere, senior Eddie Ruckel, and junior Matt McMullin scored touchdowns for the Rams. Along with a field goal by senior Andrew Seid, the Rams had 24 points on the scoreboard to outmatch Arlington’s 14. The Rams claimed their second straight win. Join the Rams again as they visit Ramapo on Friday, September 21st. Come and support your school!

North Football: Rams vs. Scarsdale

by Kyle Unger

Game #1 @ Scarsdale
September 8th, 2012

To begin their season, the Clarkstown North Rams were hosted by Scarsdale Saturday afternoon. There was a Scarsdale student, Tyler Madoff, who had passed away during the summer on vacation in Hawaii, so the football team wanted to dedicate the game and their season to him. Scarsdale came out with enormous intensity to begin the game, but the Rams overpowered them. The Rams took an early lead and never looked back. On the road, Clarkstown North defeated Scarsdale 33-14. Senior Quarterback Frankie Regalbuto completed 6 of 8 passing attempts for 69 yards with a TD to Senior Tight End Anthony Termine. Senior Eddie Ruckel, senior Billy Delay, and junior Matt McMullin each ran for a touchdown. Junior Josh Dinkins recovered a fumble on defense and ran it back for a score, as well. It was a great performance all around for the Rams as they rightfully deserved their first win of the season. Tune in for their next game Friday the 14th at home against Arlington. Come watch and support the Rams!
